I am a professional artist with a degree in from the art academy Minerva in Groningen, the Netherlands. Favorably I paint ‘en plein air’. My inspiration comes from the Wadden islands (Terschelling) and its beautiful light, skies, beeches and old sailing ships and from the Dutch river landscapes along Waal and IJssel rivers. I am also very much inspired by the everyday life – cyclists and atmosphere – in the old city centers of Dutch cities as Utrecht and Amsterdam. Furthermore I enjoy painting coast and sea on journeys to Brittany and England. In my colour woodcuts I like to experiment with light and atmospheric effects. My bronze sculptures are playful and full of humor often depicting incredibly talented animals in the circus. An other series is about Dutch cyclists.
